The ballot committee report that the motion “That the print Standard be discontinued from January 2018 and the online Standard become the Party’s official journal.” (was unamended and) was lost by 11 votes for to 89 votes against.

LATEST NEWS: NO DELEGATES VOTE TO STOP THE PRINT EDITION OF THE SOCIALIST STANDARD. On an indicative vote the motion was rejected at Annual Conference 30 April 2017 by nil votes for, 12 against and 2 abstentions. The motion now goes to a vote of the whole membership
